Tony Baker is one of Britain’s most experienced public affairs journalists. In a career spanning almost 40 years, he has written for all of Britain’s national newspapers and most regional dailies, and contributed more than 10,000 reports for ITV and the BBC. He has interviewed four serving Prime Ministers, most Cabinet Ministers and Opposition spokesmen since 1975, and covered a total of 11 General Elections. He has presented BBC Business Breakfast, BBC File on Four, BBC Network UK (for World Service), BBC North of Westminster, BBC Close Up North, and many editions of BBC Look North. On its launch in 2003, he was chosen as a co-presenter of the BBC Politics Show. For the past 20 years, he has also run his own media business, producing independent and corporate TV programmes and specialising in media training and public affairs consultancy.

Keynote speaker
David Strahan, an award-winning investigative journalist and documentary film-maker who specializes in popularizing some of the most difficult and important stories in business and science. Since the early 1990s he has reported and produced extensively for the BBC’s Money Programme and Horizon strands. He is also the author of The Last Oil Shock: A Survival Guide to the Imminent Extinction of Petroleum Man, published by John Murray Ltd, and continues to write and broadcast about energy.
